A Nation of Nitwits?

Thanks to The NYTimes thinking people will pay for the honor of reading their "columnists" opinions, one cannot read anything marked as "TimeSelect."

This certainly isn't the end of the world, but it does limit the fun one might have reading "balanced/biased" tripe; unless I agree with it......

This morning Bob Herbert's "piece," is entitled, "In America; A Nation of Nitwits."

"According to a new poll, 60 percent of Americans are unable to name the President who ordered the nuclear attack on Japan, and 35 percent do not know that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. One out of every four people surveyed for the America's Talking/ Gallup ..."

I'm sure it is an interesting "piece." I wonder where he went with it? Got a spare $4.95 for the "single purchase?"

I wonder if he sees any issue with the media within this "piece." The plight of education? The daily "re-write" of history?

Hey, at least I'm not included in those percentages in the intro. Everyone knows Harry Eisenhower and Datsun is the answer to those queries.....
