Which do you think is the worst case Iraq scenario?

Which do you think is the worst case Iraq scenario?

Iraq as a terror base 26% 1380 votes

U.S. troops there long-term 42% 2175 votes

Wider regional violence 32% 1683 votes

Total: 5238 votes

Pulling U.S. forces from Iraq could trigger catastrophe, CNN analysts and other observers warn, affecting not just Iraq but its neighbors in the Middle East, with far-reaching global implications.”

“Sectarian violence could erupt on a scale never seen before in Iraq if coalition troops leave before Iraq's security forces are ready. Supporters of al Qaeda could develop an international hub of terror from which to threaten the West. And the likely civil war could draw countries like Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran into a broader conflict.”

Oh, I see…CNN says it’s so, so it’s finally so. The Bush Administration has been saying this very thing for years…yet, now… Where were these guys awhile ago?

But hey, no worries, Harry and the Hooligans have 42% of those that took the time to vote, that U.S. troops in Iraq for the long term would be the worst case Iraq scenario.

Keep ‘em comin’ Harry!!!

    2. 30 years' peace in Vietnam?

Mullah, don't forget the hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese murdered in "re-education camps" after the North Vietnamese spread their Communist repression into the South.

And don't forget that, with U.S. troops gone, the Khmer Rouge next door felt free to murder 2 million Cambodians in the "killing fields."

One other point: In the 1973 Peace Peace Accords, the North Vietnamese promised in writing that, if U.S. combat troops left, the Communists would allow free elections and all human rights in South Vietnam.

U.S. combat troops left, and two years later, North Vietnamese tanks were rolling into Saigon.

Now, 32 years later, and we're still waiting for those free elections.

There is no peace without freedom.

Ah yes, mulla, you must end with an attack on "israeli"s, read Jews. What else? At least it lets us know that you stand with the Nazi's and Islamists.Kind of like how well Jews get treated in Gaza, now that they are not "occupiers". Oh, that's right Gaza is "Judenrein".

Right on target about our betrayal of the people of indochina, Frank.

The results of this poll are very sad. Why does no one consider WWII a failure or loss? We are still in Japan and Germany. We have never made peace with Korea, now 50 years later and we still have how many troops there? Why are we so certain that we must get out of Iraq? Because we have been there for 15 seconds?

I fear that the infantile attitude of many of our people may be our demise. Rome is burning, the walls of the city are surrounded by barbarians and the people are clamoring to hold a circus.
