"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Bush: Hamas Must Alter Stance on Israel to Be 'Partner in Peace'

Bush: Hamas Must Alter Stance on Israel to Be 'Partner in Peace': "the United States is sticking to its position against dealing with parties whose platforms call for Israel's destruction."

Obviously Fatah wasn't cutting it, whether it's the misery of years of destruction or cronyistic failure...who knows.

Hamas has played the political party deal for quite sometime now through charity and helping the people. It doesn't make them a nice group, but the people voted. Interesting to see where it leads. Hopefully not just a legitimization of their tactics.
