"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

CNN - Quickvote on Bush Admin putting terrorists out of business

Has the Bush administration done a good job of putting terrorists 'out of business'?

Yes 29% 45584 votes
No 71% 110168 votes
Total: 155752 votes

What do you suppose is the rationale of the 71% of those that voted that indicates to them the administration is not doing a good job?

What would one consider a good job? Is the fact that an audiotape from bin Laden an indicator? Do people really feel it is that easy to find a person that doesn't want to be found? One that doesn't mind living in holes in the ground or caves? One that is in an area where the U.S. is not openly/overtly welcome.

If captured, would we be able to imprison bin Laden at Gitmo without people losing their sh*t? Seriously though, how many different opinions does everyone have about what is the right way and or wrong way of doing anything? You might say that General So and So and other officers said we didn't have enough troops on the ground in Iraq. Do you then consider that there are other generals that did think there were enough or don't you? Does one believe the media really cares about those officers that did approve of the numbers? Not the media I witness. Agreement doesn't sell ad space in their line of business. Tie in their "we know best" attitude and what do you think you're going to get?
