"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

CNN.com - First-grader suspended for sex harassment - Feb 9, 2006

"The first-grader was suspended for three days for sexual harassment after he put two fingers inside a classmate's waistband, school officials told his mother"

Occassionaly we hear of instances like the above. The article describes scenarios in the past couple years where young children were suspended for various actions, i.e. 2nd grader kissing classmate.

In so many instances in society we feel the need to treat children as adults or not?

Some demand that a young girl shouldn't have to have her parents notified for an abortion; presumably because she is mature enough to make that decision.

Some young men are sex offenders because they date a girl under the legal acceptable age.

Some young people shouldn't be tried as adults for murder.

What are they?
