"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

CNN.com - Rumsfeld: Al Qaeda has better P.R. - Feb 17, 2006: "He lamented that vast media attention about U.S. abuses at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq outweighed that given to the discovery of 'Saddam Hussein's mass graves.'"

This is exactly what I was thinking as I read. We certainly cannot force the media with regard to what to report, but they truly do go over board in their quest to counter the administration. I guess this is because they know better and have assured themselves that everything they have said is the Gods honest truth; when in reality they are toeing a self selected line and refuse to stray from that stance.
