"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

FOXNews.com - Politics News - Al Franken Inching Toward Senate Run

Al has spent an awful lot of time at the extreme opposite side of the administration. He is a funny guy (or used to be) and I've read a couple of his books and laughed. That said, he has used alot of that comical creative energy building an alternate reality for himself and others. It's one thing to be on one side of an issue or another but, like many, shall I call them "Hollywooders," he wraps himself in rhetoric and rants about one side of an argument as though it is fact. Everytime he or others speak up (George Clooney is a great example, you'll have to pay to read for now though), it is so one sided. You would think they might take the time to look into what they are going on about with the air of being thoughtful experts. They are more often then not guilty of the very same thing they claim some right wing nut is, but from the ultra-left side. Personally I find it completely irresponsible.

Do we need yet another overly partisan extremist Al? I don't think so, we could all just use some honestly.
