"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Hugh Hewitt: February 12, 2006 - February 18, 2006 Archives

I enjoyed listening to the interview with Lawrence O'Donnell yesterday on the drive home. Unfortunately there is a break after the 1st hour of Hugh's radio program and hours 2 and 3 don't play until 8PM, which pisses me off. However, RadioBlogger exists, and gets the transcripts up for our reading pleasure.

Anyway, with regard to O'Donnel. He had indicated there was a difference, maybe standard is a good word, between how one writes for a paper and one posts to a blog. I guess what I find intriguing about it is that often "journalists," never admit bias, or want to answer Hugh's question regarding "who'd you vote for?" The question itself usually twists their panties like Dorothy's in a twister and they refuse to answer. If someone like O'Donnel won't reveal this, perhaps blog posts will have to be all the illumination we need, we'll just have to "suppose" or "opine," as he did the other day.

They appear truly irate and miffed that they were not groveled to by the VP immediately. Helen Thomas in her interview with Hugh, indicated that not immediately going to the press made it a secret, at least in the news business; the news business operates on "instancy."

Yet, with the "instancy" of the 24 hour news cycle, the msm does a horrendous job of covering what is truly going on in the world.

The White House press corp and journalists in general should be grateful for that 18 hour delay. Instead, they have wasted 96 plus hours, chasing a non-story based on their biased delusions.
