"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

TIME.com: Behind Iran's Nuclear Defiance -- Page 1

TIME.com: Behind Iran's Nuclear Defiance -- Page 1

Previous wisdom from Time was "restarting work on the country's nuclear program is the classic maneuver of an elected leader caught in a political bind."

Now "Ahmadinejad seems none too worried about U.N. sanctions." In part due to the economic interests of Russia and China, rise in oil prices and Washington's challenges in Iraq and Palestine. Previous Time wisdom as linked in my opening paragraph was pathetic; now there is now wisdom, only the obvious. Stellar reporting.
