"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Academics urge UN to oblige Western media to respect religions, Islam - Irna

Academics urge UN to oblige Western media to respect religions, Islam - Irna: "Islamic Association of Iranian Academics on Monday expressed outrage at Western media blasphemous action against Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) urging United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan to stop repetition of such acts against Muslim World."

As is usually the case, things said against other religious groups by extremists is acceptable. The letter to Annan included the regret that '"blasphemy against Prophet of Islam (PBUH) has become an ordinary practice in the Western media."' Practice as they preach, not as they do.

I'm curious as to why in Iran calling a "danish" a "Rose of the Prophet Mohammad isn't a form of blasphemy?
