Ogre's Politics & Views: Islam good, Christianity Bad -- in the media
Ogre points to an "Indepedent" student newspaper at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It looks as though some students were fired from the paper for printing Muslim cartoons; subject of the Inkquisition.
It appears the editorialist, Eric Naing, has soaked up quite a bit knowledge at the university. According to Eric, "more is at stake than just the livelihood of a few evangelical preachers and pundits. The bodies of all women in South Dakota are being declared state property while children are being force-fed junk science and bogus creationist theories. Our health, our children and our culture are being damaged by the actions of the Christian right." I sure hope none of those Christian Righters are taking flying lessons.
We are encouraged by Ogre to "post about it and get the word out. I also encourage you to call and write the Daily Illini. The DI's number is 217-337-8300 and the e-mail in question is opinions@dailyillini.com, but you can also mail the interim editor (yes the editors who ran the cartoon are STILL suspended) at editor@dailyill"
"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05
