"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

HARRY REID CALLS FOR DIPLOMATIC RECOGNITION OF IRAN - TKS on NRO

Is it just me, or is Harry Reid an idiot? While he may not realize it, he has in essence called for re-opening diplomatic relations with Iran. Jim Geraghty has posted recent quotes from a Reid story in the Las Vegas Sun.

One of my favorites is "The Bush administration is relying too heavily on other countries in the international effort to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons, according to Sen. Harry Reid." So logic follows from the past to present: multi-lateral in Iraq, uni-lateral in North Korea and uni-lateral in Iran. Reid logic calls for whatever following Reid - or if Harry believes this is the case because Harry said it and if Harry says something and he believes that to be the case; well then that is the case...if Harry says it....

The post from TKS: "Well, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid..."
