"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

White House Tries to Quell Anger Over Democratic Leak Claim Demagoguery

"Scott McClellan, said a decision was made to declassify and release some information to rebut "irresponsible and unfounded accusations" that the administration had manipulated or misused prewar intelligence to buttress its case for war."

Which is obvious only to those that choose look at life in a realistic fashion and not kneejerkedly overreact. When you consider all of the rumor and obfuscation created by the media and Democrats at the run-up to and onset of Iraq, one has to wonder why an administration wouldn't continue to justify it's actions. From that time, the Left has not ceased in it's efforts to paint the situation with their bold faced lies and imaginary claims that have stretched beyond the confines of the most unbalanced conspiracy buffs.

The success of this effort is readily apparent when a Harry Reid can with a straight face and no wink say, "this is a serious allegation with national security consequences. It directly contradicts previous statements made by President Bush, it continues a pattern of misleading by this Bush White House, and it raises somber and troubling questions about the Bush administration's candor with the Congress and the public."

It only seriously contradicts what the Democrats have said for so many years now, which unfortunately for a country that literally has only a two party system has dire consequences for the American public. Hopes of mine that the Dems would pull their heads out of their as*es after JFK2not's defeat were pointless.

So the country, at least for the next couple of years, will have to deal with a leftward msm and an off the scales left Democratic Left that counters reality with their alternate universe that they have convinced me they believe.

But hey, Harry has said it, so it must be so.
