The manipulation of our sovereignty and reality, tour set to begin....
Cross posted from Morning Coffee:
Extreme leftist activist groups are planning a summer of protest marches and "Rallies" and "Teach-ins" to highlight the evils of capitalism and any form of immigration reform that does not include Amnesty and an open borders policy.
They are putting forward a slate of demands: full legalization of all undocumented persons; no border walls; no detention and deportation of immigrants; protection of civil rights for all; no "guest worker" slave labor program; opposition to the "criminalization" of immigrants; full worker rights for all; reunification measures for immigrant families; repeal of sanctions on employers of undocumented workers; and no to both the Sensenbrenner bill (HR-4437) and the Hegel-Martinez bill (S-2611). The Group behind the organization of these events is the Workers World Party, which frequently uses other organizations as front groups such as International ANSWER, International Action Center, and has had participation of some of its previous events by The Mexica Movement (pronounced, Meh-shee-kah).
Here is some further information on the WWP. A Marxist-Leninist sect that was the sponsor and organizer of the major national demonstrations against the war in
Iraq is also one of the most important organizations on the left. It was founded in 1959 by Sam Marcy. Marcy and his followers were members of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP) until 1958, when they split from the SWP - which, in contrast to Marcy, opposed the Soviet invasion of
Hungary the previous year. The WWP idolizes the former Soviet dictator and mass murderer Joseph Stalin and regards Fidel Castro as a hero of the common man. It has supported the Soviet invasions of Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan, as well as the regimes of Slobodan Milocevic in the former Yugoslaviaand Kim Jong Il in North Korea - notwithstanding the barbarous atrocities and human rights violations they have committed. In the 1960s, Marcy himself led demonstrations against the Vietnam War and called for the victory of the Vietcong.
Today, the WWP website proclaims, "We're independent Marxists who respect the struggles for self-determination and progress of oppressed nations. We try to understand their problems in a world dominated by Western imperialism. We don't jump on the bandwagon when
Third World leaders are demonized. Our goal is solidarity of all the workers and oppressed against this criminal imperialist system. . . . We fight hard for a better life right now, but we know that nothing is secure - not our jobs, our homes, our health care, our pensions, our civil rights and liberties - as long as capitalism exists. So our goal is a society run by the workers, not just as pawns in a capitalist political game but as collective owners of the social wealth."
I would venture that the vast majority of those who participate in the events the WWP and communist wannabes really have no clue as to what the organizers of those events really stand for. If the WWP's goals and objectives were made clear, I am sure that participation would be a mere fraction of what it likely will be.
The dates mentioned in the WWP release include 15 July, and 28-30 July, as well as another date in late July yet to be determined. The planned actions will culminate on Labor Day in Los Angeles in what they hope will be part of a national day of protest and support for immigrant and worker unity.
