"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

When is an Illegal Alien not an Illegal Alien?

The PC police within the Media use language to change the meaning of reality on a daily basis. Illegal aliens are no longer, so what is to dislike or be upset about? This is one reason so many delusional people have convinced themselves that Bush "lied." A lie is no longer a lie, as and illegal alien is a "foreign or undocumented worker."

Cross posted from InMuscatine:

When the MSM media writes a story about illegal aliens, silly!

Doesn't it sound genteel? "Hiding foreign workers" sounds so much better than smuggling
illegal aliens :

Des Moines Register | 2 in Iowa accused of hiding foreign workers:

The owners of two Chinese restaurants in Atlantic and Harlan have been charged with harboring multiple undocumented immigrants after federal authorities were
tipped to suspicious wire transfers, apparently intended to repay smugglers.

Court papers filed in U.S. District Court in Des Moines allege that Shui Ming Lin and Xiu Wen "Wendy" Lin knowingly "did hire, conceal, harbor and shield" six workers from the detection of immigration authorities.

The two owners are in the country legally on a "temporary, political asylum-based status,'' court records show. Both have been released pending trial after surrendering their passports to federal authorities.

If convicted, each faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
Of course, it's not like they can secure fake passports and leave the country, or just move
elsewhere within the USA. But without intending to, the Des Moines Register puts to lie the
old saw about illegal aliens paying taxes :
Once in Iowa, workers were paid between $400 and $1,800 per month, in cash, according to the documents, to work either at China Garden Restaurant
in Atlantic or Panda Garden Restaurant in Harlan.
Emphasis is emphatically mine.

How much you wanna bet the owners weren't paying taxes of any sort, either? Are they
going to face prosecution if that should happen to be the fact? Are you kidding me?!? We
are such suckers for playing by the rules. We should just renounce our citizenship and quit
paying taxes just like the illegals do! Well, if we had more brains than love of country we
should do that exactly.
