"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

I'll Believe It when I see It and Enemy at the Gate....

A couple of CAII posts for you to enjoy or rue....depending upon your perspective.

From Morning Coffee, Darrell is up and running again and will only trust his own eyes with "I'll Believe It when I see It"

We have all heard several times before that the Feds are getting tough on those who hire illegal immigrants, yet when it comes time to back up the rhetoric with actual prosecutions very little is actually accomplished. I certainly hope that the following article is not more of the same rhetoric but the beginning of actual prosecutions and real jail time for those who break the law.
For the rest of the story........

And the Stikman is busy with something that sounds a bit too Democratic party like with, "Enemy at the gate....The Republican Leadership is killing its own party"

"With the resignation of Republican National Committee Chair Ken Mehlman, President Bush intends to fill the post with Florida's Mel Martinez, a Hispanic who led the battle in the U.S. Senate for amnesty for illegal aliens."

"The nomination of Mel Martinez as RNC chair is not yet a done deal — the RNC membership must vote on it and will vote in approx. six weeks. The President, however, has made his choices known, not only for the RNC leadership but for his intended direction of the Republican party — business as usual."
