"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

G.O.P. Senator Opposes Alito as Vote to End Debate Nears - New York Times

G.O.P. Senator Opposes Alito as Vote to End Debate Nears - New York Times: "'Judge Alito has outstanding legal credentials and an inspiring life story,' Mr. Chafee said, in a statement released by his office. 'However, I am greatly concerned about his philosophy on some important constitutional issues.'"

Chafee says he's pro-choice, environment and Bill of Rights so he will be voting against Alito. This guy is about as dishonest as they come. "In 3 of 4 cases, Supreme Court nominee Alito voted on the side of abortion rights." Alito may be "pro-life," yet as viewed by some this looks more like a jurist that leaves out any personal feelings/opinions when on the bench.

It is one thing to not go along with the leader of your party, but to essentially put he and the rest of the party down with the, "pro-choice, environment and Bill of Rights," statement isn't as damaging to Alito as it is to his party.

Why support a turncoat like this, visit him today and let him know how you feel.
