"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Hamas Leader Vows to Pursue Stance on Israel - New York Times

Khaled Meshal, the exiled political head of Hamas, said they will not '"submit to pressure to recognize Israel, because the occupation is illegitimate and we will not abandon our rights,"' and will create a single Palestinian army.

Yesterday in an extremely short post regarding a CNN Quickvote that it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Not that it's pretty but unambiguous remarks from a country's leadership makes for a better target.

The Hamas Charter, "believes that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic waqf throughout the generations and until the Day of Resurrection, no one can renounce it or part of it, or abandon it or part of it."

This, regardless of the history of the Palestinians and overall treatment of them by "fellow" arabs.
