So, all the guff he has received for calling for the filibuster from Davos has influenced his return. I certainly hope he was able to get a refund on his lift tickets.
Scott McClellan said it best, "I think it was a historic day yesterday. It was the first ever call for a filibuster from the slopes of Davos, Switzerland, maybe Senator Kerry needs to be spending more time in the United States Senate so he can refresh his memory on Senate rules. Senate rules say you have to have the votes in order to filibuster."
"Liberal groups such as People for the American Way have implored Democratic senators to filibuster Alito's nomination" If this is not representative of his extremism I don't know what is. We're looking at the continued effort by the left's utopian sixties warriors in realizing the dream that should have been given up when the stopped dropping acid (perhaps that is an indication that they haven't stopped). Kerry's run last year was scary in that he hadn't changed or learned anything from that time in his life. He still stands for his awkward beliefs, though they are tempered with the ideals of the true politician.
Hillary hasn't gotten gutsy and stood up beside him as well. Don't forget she has done this as that is what she is counting on "moderate centrist that she is." She needs to bring folks back to the fold and retain or get their support back.
He is a sad little man that doesn't realize he came as close as he did to the presidency because of DeMediacratic hatred for anything Bush.
"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05
