"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Kind of a stupid question since that is basically all we're talking about these days. It is unfortunate that it takes an issue like the U.A.E. company taking over port management to wake us up. I am by no means pleased about this idea, but how much security is there to begin with. We inspect a miniscule amount of that which comes into our ports and then we want to put a company from that area in a position like this?
