"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Rice Asks Congress for $75 Million for Iran - New York Times

Rice Asks Congress for $75 Million for Iran - New York Times

"The United States has not had diplomatic ties with Iran since the 1979 storming of the U.S. Embassy in Iran..." I would kind think they might go into just a bit more detail with regard to the hostage taking, but I guess that's just me. As written it doesn't quite have the same effect. Articles written about Iraq alway remind us of how many dead, so why not actually supply a little history here?

$75 million...it is about time we got serious about this type of support. It is time for catch up!
