"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Illegal Immigrant - Day of Action - Phoenix AZ - All Quiet in the Morning

The "Day of Action" is upon us; what a "Day of Action" is I'm not sure, but it looks like it's walking.

Acccording the the Arizona Republic, "Marchers will gather today at the Arizona State Fairgrounds for the 1 p.m. walk to Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza by the Capitol for a 4 p.m. rally. A crowd of more than 20,000, and as high as 100,000 is expected for the march, dubbed Somos America: Hoy Marchamos MaƱana Votamos, meaning We are America: Today We March, Tomorrow We Vote."

I guess I'm just slow, but "Today We March, Tomorrow We Vote" is a catchy way of saying legalize the illegal. Some of us came here "illegally" and we demand that we be given citizenship. It's an odd demand to me, but hey it happened in '86 for 3 million, why not in '06 for 12 million. 20 years later with the sieve we call a border no longer a drip what else could we expect?

Anyway, so far Wesley Bolin Park at the heart of the Arizona capital is quiet as it prepares for the thousands of individuals legal, illegal and otherwise making their various statements regarding the audacity of a government that might not legalize illegal activity.
