"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Enforcing the Border(s)

With the time that passes, it would be nice if they actually came up with something that works.

Cross posted from Free Constitution:

While we wait, and wait for our representatives to take on an urgent issue, illegals of all nationalities pour in.

From the AP:

Two New York men have been charged with smuggling 21 illegal aliens into Vermont from Canada.

Border Patrol agents said they stopped two vans carrying 21 passengers on Sunday. The passengers were from Afghanistan, Guyana, India, Mexico and Pakistan, and did not have the proper documents to enter the United States, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
This is great news, but the chances of deportees returning to the U.S. without "proper documents" is very likely. I'd venture to say that at least a few of these illegal aliens are repeat offenders. And a few may do it again.

We must not ignore nor neglect our northern border, while there may be a big difference in the amount of illegal entries compared to the southern border, the threats to our security and sovereignty are equally important.
