"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Two Elections and a Lesson

Two Elections and a Lesson

Two Elections and ignoring lessons. Dionne must jump on this now and with the angle he has chosen before things change. The only people that look at this and tear it apart as piecemeal proof the President is simple-headed continue doing so as it suits their purpose and serves to undermine reality or possiblities.

Democratic voting has not been called the "end all." Yet you would think that is just what has been said by other than media types.

Palestinian vote results serves Dionne's purposes for this editorial and a twist of the Canadian results does so too.

Bush "prides himself on clarity and disdains nuance, was nuancing all over the place."

As he puts it, the Presidents said, '"If they're unhappy with the status quo," (at newsconference), they'll let you know."

Yet I guess here is where the nuance comes in '"I know you can't be a partner in peace . . . if your party has got an armed wing."' Sounds straight forward enough to me.

The Bush Admin has been painting a "utopian and decidedly unconservative view of how American power could be used to change the world -- and quickly." This is his take and those that choose to remain oblivious to anything positive coming out of this twisted world, if only because Bush touts it.

In reality things are speeding along at a pace we cannot keep up with, yet this appears to many in the MSM as slow. To me the end result(s) are really never as the world keep spinning. 24 hour opinionating cycles allow each piece to be served as the end result or failure of an end result. By the time anything really comes of anything no one will remember; partially due to memory, but mostly due to the constant rewriting of history as it is happening.
