It would be interesting to see if it works, however this being the onset; it is all just a bunch of politicians patting themselves on the back.

It is interesting and somewhat disconcerting that people will be "forced" to buy insurance. To avoid costs of people without insurance using an emergency room and having the government pay for it, they will now have to purchase insurance. With these people purchasing insurance the state is assured that this will bring rates down as more people will be buying.
