"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

CIA Run Amok

The CIA purge is far from over. Those who are using the agency to undermine the war effort must be rooted out, no matter who is in charge - NRO Editors

In the past the CIA has been an arm of the government that did not garner trust, so it has been hampered to the point of being ineffective. During that time it has become an agency that messes up on a grand scale; the most obvious of which was the state of the U.S.S.R.

The Agency has been working foot and mouth with the Left in its effort in bringing down the Bush Administration. Why? Perhaps because its people still believe they know best even when they have been wrong so often. Rather than allow a revamping that might improve its abilities they fight by trying to overturn our present government.
