"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

Iran writes to Bush

A smiling liar

Here is what is known publically, yet many stories are written.

According to Reuters:

Iran's president sent an unprecedented letter to President Bush on Monday, suggesting ways to ease tension over Tehran's nuclear program, but it was not clear if it offered any compromise.
According to IRNA:
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here on Monday handed over a letter from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to his American counterpart President W. Bush to Swiss embassy in Tehran.
And this from IRNA:
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written a letter to the US President George W. Bush, government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said here Monday.

Elham made the remark while speaking to domestic and foreign reporters at his weekly press conference.

Earlier, Ahmadinejad had told reporters he had decided to send letters to leaders of certain countries on the occasion of Year of Great Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Bottom line, we don't know anything about these letters until the information is released.

Although, it appears that there are "new ways" to end the crisis according to Tehran, which is likely very much like Democrats "have a plan."

According to CNN:
Iranian Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said, president Ahmadinejad "analyzed the current international condition and has pointed out the way to find the root causes."
Well, there you have it. So, threats to leave the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty), continuing to enrich uranium and bellicose talk are what we know. The letter is yet another piece of a scam, which they can say proves they are doing everything possible to present an olive branch.

A smiling liar
