"How did it come to pass that an opposition's measure of a president's foreign policy was all or nothing, success or "failure"? The answer is that the political absolutism now normal in Washington arrived at the moment--Nov. 7, 2000--that our politics subordinated even a war against terror to seizing the office of the presidency." - Daniel Henninger - WSJ 11/18/05

One Small Step for the Left; Giant Propaganda Coup for Iran

"We believe that sustainable peace does not mean to impose tranquility. We believe that the world can be run much more better than the present situation. We can avoid wars, threats, bloodshed and hostilities." – Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

"We do not take these statements seriously. Comments to the media are different from real statements" - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

“The fact of the matter is that one of the purposes of suspension — keeping them from getting the knowledge — has been overtaken by events.” - IAEA Director el Baradei

Did you know that the concern of Iran suspending its uranium enrichment is an “old issue?” Well, yes of course it is as negotiations have been going on for years. But, did you know that Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini during a weekly “press conference” commenting on the “possibility of Iran suspending its enrichment activities said:

"This is an old issue. Even the International Atomic Energy Agency chief ElBaradei has admitted that the issue of suspension is an old matter; suspension has no place in Iran's peaceful nuclear policies. We should talk of new initiatives and remove outstanding issues based on this framework."

Forget that nothing of any substance has been done to allay concerns that their nuclear intentions are peaceful; it’s old news…Iran is perfectly happy using the actions and/or statements of others to plow right on through as though they have done so much. El Baradei’s previous remarks (and likely, future remarks) are good fodder for the propaganda machine of a nation like Iran. Speaking of others actions/remarks being good fodder; the invitation to Columbia University is good propaganda….so is reaction to the invitation; regarding Ahmadinejad speaking before an audience at Columbia University, the spokesman said (surprise!!!):

"Despite US efforts to sabotage the program, we are trying to make it anyway."

Thanks Columbia for exemplifying Robert Frost’s “a liberal is a man too broad minded to take his own side in a quarrel.
